Allen National School
School Ethos
Scoil na Trionoide Naofa is a co-educational Catholic Primary School under the patronage of the Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin and it aims at promoting the full and harmonious development of all aspects of the pupil: intellectual, physical, cultural, moral and spiritual.
The Ethos of a school is created by a combination of the standards, actions and attitudes, fostered within a school.
We aspire to create an ETHOS within Allen National School in which:
· All feel welcome, cherished, safe and secure.
· The school models and promotes a philosophy of life inspired by belief in God and in the life of Jesus Christ. While providing religious education and formation for the pupils in accordance with the doctrines, practices and traditions of the Roman Catholic Church it gives due respect and recognition to pupils of other faiths and of none.
· Opportunities are provided for worship and prayer, through the celebration of the liturgy, sacraments and assemblies.
· Pupils are motivated to work towards a more just and caring community, society and world.
· Pupils are encouraged to use their gifts to enrich their community and their common good.
· We strive to create a learning environment, in which each pupil is motivated and enabled to develop their full potential and unique talents.
