PTA
Parent Teacher Association
The Board of Management, Principal, staff and parents appreciate the ongoing and invaluable support the Parent Teacher Association give to the school. Since its inception the Parent Teacher Association has made a very worthwhile contribution to the school community. It is a structure through which parents can work together for the best possible education for their children. The PTA works with the other education partners to build effective partnerships between home, school and community.
Children learn better, behave better and are happier at school where parents and teachers work closely together and support each other. Teachers can achieve greater learning where they are supported by, and working closely with, parents. Parents can do a better job when they have the support of other parents.
The PTA is run by a Committee on behalf of the Board and all parents. The PTA is an active partner in the formulation and development of school policies. The views of parents are sought through the PTA.
In addition to work on policies, members of the PTA have been actively engaged in a broad range of projects to support teaching and learning in the school. Among these are:
- Playground markings to ensure the yard area is inviting and colourful for pupils.
- Fundraising activities.
- Purchase of a set of ipads for the pupils.
