The 'Great Debate' between 5th and 6th Class continued this week with the motion that 'Zoos are suitable habitats for animals to live in'. 6th Class proposed the motion and 5th Class opposed it. It was certainly a very enjoyable debate with a wonderful atmosphere in the room and both teams making strong arguments for their side. It was clear that both teams spent a lot of time preparing and researching in advance of the debate. With only two points between the teams, 5th Class were this week's winners.
Well done to Chloe, Holly and Scott from 6th Class and Ann, Alanna and John from 5th Class.
We look forward to our next debate!

The 'Great Debate' between 5th and 6th Class continued this week with a controversial motion that 'Boxing should be encouraged as a form of sport'. Caoimhe, Aaron and Rachel from 6th Class proposed the motion and Zoey, Emily and Darragh from 5th Class opposed the motion.
There was a wonderful atmosphere in the room as both teams argued their points convincingly. It was very clear that both teams had prepared well. The rest of the pupils had their voices heard when the debate was opened to the floor. The result was extremely close again this week, so much so that both teams scored the exact same amount of marks, which ended our debate with a draw! Well done to both classes on another successful debate. We're already looking forward to the next one.
